ABOUT :

Blossom was rescued from an over-run county shelter in Los Angeles, where she was facing euthanasia at only 8 months of age due to over population. When Blossom first arrived in Canada, she was quite fearful and a little shut down. She had been through so much at such a young age! True to her name, she quickly “blossomed” into a more confident and curious pup, and has continued to make steady progress since!

Blossom is a tender-heart. She doesn’t rush into anything but once she feels safe, her sweet, affectionate side starts to shine. She notices everything: the wind, a branch, a stranger’s energy. She may seem cautious at first, but it’s not fear—it’s thoughtfulness. We need to be patient with her. The more we try to make her hurry, the more she stands still.

She bonds deeply and quietly. She doesn’t need to be the loudest or the most playful dog, she just wants to be near, to lean her head into your hand, to feel connected. She’s emotionally attuned, the kind of dog who will notice when you’re sad and just sit beside you.

Blossom approaches life like she approaches new smells: slowly, gently, but with growing confidence. Every time she tries something new, like plays with a branch, discovers snow, meets another dog for the first time or lets a stranger pet her, it’s like a little more of blooms.

Her ideal home is one with a family on the calmer side who has a steady routine, and ideally someone who is home often. Blossom is not yet quite comfortable in her crate, and while she can stay home alone for a few hours at a time she still needs help to feel safe during these situations.

WORDS FROM HER FOSTER:

Blossom is a gentle, soulful pup who has truly bloomed into a playful, affectionate companion. From the very beginning, she’s been loving and cuddly, always happy to rest her head in your lap or follow you quietly from room to room. She’s incredibly affectionate and bonds quickly when she feels safe.

Over time, she’s discovered the joy of fetch and play, and now she lights up when she sees a toy or a branch to chase. She’s still a thoughtful little explorer, and she loves to pause and sniff everything, so a bit of patience on walks goes a long way. She likes to sit and observe.

Blossom thrives in a home with routine, consistency, lots of love and of course time outside (not just in the back yard! She needs to explore). She’s made huge strides in her confidence and would do best with someone who can give her a calm environment and just a little patience as she continues to grow. She’s truly a special girl, sweet, gentle, and quietly brave. Watching her learn to play, trust, and love has been such a joy. She’s ready to share that love with her forever family.
