FATTOUSH
WORDS FROM FATTOUSH’S NEW ADOPTERS: After a decade of traveling around for work, finally settling in Montreal, and buying a house, it was the perfect time to add a dog to our family. Before even moving in we were looking to rescue a dog in need and just couldn’t find the right fit. A friend told us about RAD so I started following them on Instagram and watched a live video of Kim and Teny who said they were going on a big mission very soon and needed fosters. We hadn’t previously thought about fostering but giving it a shot was a good way to test ourselves, give a dog a chance, and see if we are a match. Shortly after our application was sent, Teny called for a phone interview and by the next day, Rob was checking out our house and charming us with his doggy stories before leaving for his flight to Beirut in a few days.
“Happy Thanksgiving! This is Ouden” Teny wrote. Overwhelmed with excitement and cooing over our incoming foster’s happy photo, we knew (damn) well that once he landed in our house, he would be with us forever. He had spent 4 years in the shelter so as you can imagine it took him some time to decompress and he is still adjusting to his new life. Week after week he’s been opening up to reveal his true character and learning so much (you can teach an old dog new tricks). He’s so funny, sweet, loves jogging with papa on the weekends, and goes wild for dried sardines. Adopting him was inevitable! We can feel his gratitude for getting rescued every time he bunny hops around the snowy back yard or as he sprints around the dog park.
We were impressed by RADs professionalism and approach to fostering and matching the dogs up with the right families to set everyone up for success. The support and advice of RAD during the fostering period, as well as the RAD community that emerged from around the Lebanese dogs, has made us feel like we were part of something special. We can’t thank RAD enough for bringing our Fattoush (Ouden) home!
xoxo
