WILLOW
This is the story of Willow and Yossi. Willow is now one of RAD’s ambassador. She loves everyone and just the sweetest little freckle face!
When I was in Los Angeles Kim and I decided for me to go in a high kill shelter to film and show how shelters were filled with innocent dogs just waiting to be adopted. It was simply for education purposes and to show the reality of the situation. I came across a little girl that called to me. Her name on her kennel was Shadow. She had such a innocent bark to her. She was the sweetest little thing and I didn’t understand why she was in there. I couldn’t leave without her. I went to the front desk and told them I wanted to take her. This was far from what was the original “only filming” plan but she caught my heart. The staff wouldn’t let me take her staying she was an aggressive dog and she was going to be put on the euthanasia list. It blew my mind, Kim and I were scrambling to make a plan to save this girl. I went back to her kennel and sat down with her for another 10 min and again, she was the sweetest thing. At that point I was determined to take her with me right there an then. I went back to the front desk, I told them I want HER. They finally got someone to interview me since she was deemed aggressive and wanted to make sure I would know how to handle her. A few min after, she was mine! They prepared her and off we went.
She was the happiest little thing. Before going back to Montreal with her, I took her to a few calm places like beach and to hike. Help her decompress a little before flying and also went to the vet for a full medical check up. When we got to Montreal, she fit perfectly into the family. All she needed was love and stability. She has been the most loyal, loving and grateful little girl. She’s been bringing joy and happiness into our lives. Everyone she encounters love her! She is now called Willow, the little potato. I didn’t save her life. She saved ours.
